
NEW DELHI: A cargo ship bound for China sank in the Bay of Bengal near Odisha on Saturday night. The incident took place 240 nautical miles from Paradip port in Odisha. The Panama-flagged 'MV Ocean Winner' was involved in the accident. There were 24 crew members on board. (20 Chinese nationals, 3 Myanmar nationals, and a Bangladeshi national). The Indian Navy and Coast Guard have launched a rescue mission. The ship left Odisha on Friday with 1,700 tonnes of iron ore. The reason for the accident is not yet clear. The ship was also scheduled to approach the Singapore port.
