Youth kills mother for not giving money to buy alcohol

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A youth murdered his mother for not giving money to buy alcohol. The dead is Thangaleela (67), wife of Sunderdas of Mekkamandapam near Thingalnagar in Kanyakumari. The police have arrested her son Sibi (37) in the incident.

Thangaleela was staying with her daughter Jasmine after her husband’s death. A verbal dispute broke out between Thangaleela and her son Sibi after she refused to give him money. In a fit of rage, Sibi pushed his mother onto the cot and then pressed a pillow on her face. Soon after the murder, he fled from the place. He was later arrested and confessed to the crime during interrogation. He told police that he killed his mother because she wouldn’t give him money to buy liquor but would readily give money whenever his sister asked.
