Obscene chats, honey trap, financial fraud and now attack on her own mother; Aswathy Achu and her daughter faces fresh case in Kollam

KOLLAM: A woman and her daughter have been booked for forcing her parents out of their home at night and pouring hot water on her mother during a dispute over property in Ayoor. Chadayamangalam police registered a case against Aswathy Achu and her daughter Amritha.

According to a complaint filed by Aswathy’s mother Radhamani, her daughter had repeatedly quarrelled with her and her husband, demanding that the house and property in their names be transferred to Aswathy. At around 11.30 p.m. on the day of the incident, Aswathy drove her parents out of the house before pouring hot water on Radhamani, leaving her with burn injuries. The complaint also names Amritha in connection with an assault on her grandmother. The two women went into hiding following the incident, prompting police to launch a search.

Aswathy has previously faced complaints linked to honey-trap and financial fraud cases. In 2022, complaints surfaced over obscene chats conducted through social media and attempts to trap police officers and other prominent persons. In 2023, Poovar police arrested her in a case involving a 68-year-old retired bank employee, who accused her of taking ₹40,000 after promising to marry him. Police traced her to a flat in Muttada with the help of the cyber cell.
