₹5,000 balance: Kozhikode street turns crime scene after fatal stabbing; couple held

KOZHIKODE: Two people have been arrested by the Nadakkavu police in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man on Mavoor Road. The accused have been identified as N. Najeeb, a native of Karunagappally, and his wife, Noushida, from Arakkinar.

The incident occurred around 10 p.m. on Friday during an altercation near the KSRTC bus stand on Mavoor Road. The victim, Adil Roshan (39), a native of Naduvattam and a trader in Mithai Theruvu, died after being stabbed.
According to the police, Adil had borrowed ₹10,000 from Najeeb and had repaid ₹5,000. The dispute over the remaining amount allegedly led to the murder.

However, Najeeb has claimed that the quarrel broke out after Adil made derogatory remarks about his wife. Police have intensified the search for another person who was accompanying the couple at the time of the incident.
