New trouble for Parvathy Maya Shaji; ED probe likely? Lookout notice for other accused

KOCHI: Parvathy Maya Shaji, managing director of Amster Overseas Private Limited, who was arrested in a case involving the alleged embezzlement of crores by promising jobs abroad, lands in trouble. The Kochi police will submit a report to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday. The report will include details of the money allegedly transferred abroad by the accused. The police will soon issue a lookout notice to trace the other accused in the case. The other accused include her partner Aneesh Menon. They are believed to be abroad.

More approached the police with complaints following her arrest. Meanwhile, the court will deliver verdict on her bail plea on Monday. The complaints allege that she cheated people by collecting lakhs after promising high salary jobs in countries such as Poland, Armenia, and Canada. A major portion of the money collected through the alleged fraud was received through foreign bank accounts. Similar cases have also been registered against her in other districts.

The police said that establishments such as Amster Overseas, located near Changampuzha Park in Edappally, and Amster Immigration Overseas in Palarivattom did not have licences to conduct overseas recruitment. The alleged fraud was conducted through social media since 2023. Videos and reels featuring Parvathy wearing expensive jewellery and clothes and posing alongside luxury cars, including Rolls-Royce vehicles, have gone viral on social media. There are also complaints that Parvathy and her associates threatened job seekers who demanded refunds.
