KOCHI: More information has surfaced in the case of circulating morphed obscene images of teachers and students. Some shocking information was found on the phone of the arrested accused, Srihari, a student of Bharata Mata College in Thrikkakara.

Students searched Srihari’s phone with the permission of the police and found the information. Morphed images, including of a girl, who examined the phone, were found on the device. There was evidence showing that Srihari sold these images via Telegram and Instagram groups.

Police said Srihari’s modus operandi was to click photos of teachers while they were teaching in class and then morph the images. The investigation also found that special social media groups had been created for circulating the nude images. The students who examined Srihari’s phone said they were shocked by what they saw, adding that the images and videos had been morphed in an extremely obscene manner.

Meantime, the college received information about the incident on September 1. The matter came to light after a former student of the college gave confidential information to a female teacher. The college authorities then informed the police.
