THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A 17-year-old boy was found hanging in Kallara, Thiruvananthapuram. The deceased has been identified as Akhil of Kuttimoodu in Kallara. He was found hanging from the staircase window railing on the third floor of the MGM Tower at Kallara Junction.
Akhil left his house at around 11.30 pm on Monday. When he did not return for several hours, his brother, Akshay, contacted his friends and began searching for him. During the search, Akhil was found hanging inside the MGM Tower. Although he was immediately rushed to the Medical College Hospital, his life could not be saved.
Akhil, who had completed Plus Two, had recently undergone a breakup. Police suspect the emotional distress following the breakup may have led him to take the extreme step.
