19-year-old student found dead after shooting himself in Pantheeramkavu

KOZHIKODE: In a shocking incident, a 19-year-old committed suicide by shooting himself in Pantheeramkavu, Kozhikode. The deceased has been identified as Karthik, a native of Pantheeramkavu. The incident took place at around 8 pm on Tuesday.

According to the Pantheeramkavu Police, Karthik shot himself from the upper floor of his house. Although he was rushed to the hospital immediately, doctors could not save his life.

Karthik was a member of the Thondayad Rifle Club. The reason behind the suicide is not yet clear. Police reached the house and carried out a preliminary inspection. The body has been shifted to Kozhikode Medical College for postmortem procedures. Pantheeramkavu Police have registered a case and started an investigation.
