70-year-old man dies after being hit by motorbike ridden by school students

KOZHIKODE: A 70-year-old man died after being hit by a motorbike ridden at high speed by school students in Kozhikode. The deceased has been identified as Saithalavi (70) of Kothankal in Atholi. The accident occurred on Friday evening.

Three students reportedly arrived on a motorcycle from Kothankal High School, where a school arts festival was being held. They allegedly hit Saithalavi while he was walking along the road.

The impact threw the elderly man several metres away. The students reportedly fled the scene without stopping the motorcycle. One of the three students also fell onto the road and sustained injuries in the accident. He is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital.

Following an investigation, the police found the motorcycle and traced the other two students. CCTV footage of the incident has also emerged
