THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala government has kept its order transferring Thiruvananthapuram District Collector Anu Kumari in abeyance until October 1, following a directive from the State Election Commission.

The Commission pointed out that transferring the district collector while a by-election is due to be held would violate the election model code of conduct.

Anu Kumari was transferred and posted as Special Commissioner, GST, while Anju K.S. was appointed as the new Thiruvananthapuram District Collector. However, Anju K.S. will have to wait to assume charge as the district collector following the government's decision to keep the transfer order in abeyance until October 1.
