Dr D Sajith Babu to become Chief Electoral Officer of Kerala

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Dr D Sajith Babu is set to be appointed as the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Kerala. The Election Commission of India selected him from a list of three names submitted by the Kerala government. The state government's official order is expected to be issued soon.

Sajith Babu is currently serving as the Secretary of General Education. The post fell vacant after former Chief Electoral Officer Rathan Kelkar was appointed Secretary to Chief Minister V D Satheesan. A Kaushikan was appointed as his replacement, but a new appointment became necessary after he went on central deputation. A senior IAS officer, Sajith Babu has previously served as the District Collector of Kasaragod.
