KOTTAYAM: Former Minister KB Ganesh Kumar has been removed from the NSS Board of Directors. Ganesh's membership was not renewed. It is reported that the membership of eight others, except Ganesh, was renewed.
It is reported that Ganesh's membership was not renewed after he failed to get the support of the Pathanapuram Taluk Union.
Meanwhile, Ganesh Kumar told the media that his tenure was only for one term and he is not the sort of politician who wants to stick to a position till death.
“Things will change and come back. We are with the people. We are with the NSS. I did not ask for renewal of membership. I have the majority. I have the support of 12 people. That is democracy. I don't care about positions. I didn't join NSS for that. I support the General Secretary. What happened in Pathanapuram is not right. I have documents to prove it. But I will not initiate any legal action against NSS," Ganesh Kumar clarified.
NSS General Secretary G Sukumaran Nair also responded to the issue.
“Ganesh Kumar's term has expired. He was not expelled. Things were done according to democratic etiquette. Other people who deserve the place should be given the chance. If there is some anomaly, let him file a case. The 12 people who wrote a letter on his behalf are not members of the committee,' G Sukumaran Nair clarified.
G Sukumaran Nair will continue as General Secretary, and Ayyappan Pillai as President.
