THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian Meteorological Department warned of heavy rainfall in Kerala in the coming days due to the threat of a cyclonic storm and a low-pressure area. The cyclonic storm is present over south Tamil Nadu.

The coastal low-pressure area from the south Gujarat coast to the north Kerala coast is also weak. Due to these reasons, the Meteorological Department clarified that there is a possibility of heavy rains in Kerala till August 7.

The Meteorological Department also informed that there is a possibility of strong winds and bad weather with a speed of 40 to 50 kmph and at times up to 60 kmph along the Kerala-Karnataka-Lakshdweep coasts today and tomorrow. Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department issued an advisory prohibiting fishing along the Kerala-Karnataka-Lakshdweep coasts today and tomorrow.
