THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The chief minister's police medals will not be announced today. The reason is that the verification of the list has not been completed. The police medals were supposed to be announced today. A serious lapse has been found from the side of the officials of the home department.

The list of those eligible for the medals was handed over from the police headquarters in March itself. However, the verification of the list was not completed in a timely manner. Reports say that the list was returned after a complaint was received and that no action was taken later. It is heard that the home secretary will hold a meeting on August 20 to approve the list. Meantime, there is a move to announce the award today itself.
