Major IPS reshuffle in Kerala; P Vijayan named new ADGP in charge of Law and Order

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Following the reshuffle of IAS officers, the state government has implemented a major shake-up at the IPS level as well. A total of 30 senior IPS officers, from the rank of ADGP down to SPs, have been transferred. P. Vijayan has been appointed as the new ADGP in charge of Law and Order. He will also hold additional charge of the Cyber Cell. S. Sreejith has been appointed as the new Prisons Chief. Balram Kumar Upadhyay has been shifted from the post of Prisons Chief and appointed ADGP of the Armed Police Battalion. H. Venkatesh has been given full charge as ADGP of the Crime Branch.

Dinendra Kashyap has been appointed as the new Intelligence Chief. Harshita Attalluri, who was serving as IG of Traffic and Road Safety, has been posted as IG at the Police Headquarters. S. Shyamsundar, who was serving as Intelligence IG, has been appointed Crime Branch IG. R. Nishanthini will take over as Intelligence IG. DIG Yathish Chandra has been appointed Ernakulam Range DIG. He was previously serving as Kannur Range DIG. K. Karthik, who was serving as Thiruvananthapuram City Police Commissioner, has been posted as Thrissur Range DIG. T. Narayanan will be the new Kannur Range DIG.

Arul R.B. Krishna, who was Ernakulam Range DIG, has been appointed as the new Thiruvananthapuram City Police Commissioner. Merin Joseph, who was the Kozhikode City Police Commissioner, has been appointed as the Kozhikode Rural Police Chief. Alappuzha Crime Branch SP Shoukath Ali is the new Kozhikode Commissioner. Prashanthan Kani B.K., who was the KSEB Chief Vigilance Officer, is the new Thiruvananthapuram Rural Chief. Idukki District Police Chief Sabu Mathew has been appointed as the Kottayam District Police Chief.

Among the SP-level transfers, Shaji Sugunan has been appointed Kollam SP, T.K. Vishnu Pradeep as Alappuzha SP, A. Abdul Rasheed as Palakkad SP, S. Dev Manohar as Wayanad SP, B. Krishnakumar as Railway SP, and P. Nithin Raj as Kasaragod SP.

Anuj Paliwal has been appointed AIG (Law and Order) at Police Headquarters, while T. Farash has been posted as AIG of Coastal Police. M.P. Mohanachandran Nair has been appointed Crime Branch SP for Kozhikode-Wayanad, Mohammed Nadeemuddin as Thrissur SP, Umesh Goyal as Kannur SP, Dr A. Naseem as Idukki SP, and C.S. Shahul Hameed as Crime Branch SP (Thiruvananthapuram Central Unit-I).
