He has also been demanding a high-level probe into the sexual exploitation allegations mentioned in the Hema Committee report, as well as an investigation into what he alleges was a conspiracy behind the case registered against him.
The filmmaker has now begun an indefinite hunger strike in front of the Secretariat in Thiruvananthapuram, seeking government intervention in the issues he has raised. As part of the protest, he has placed the state film awards he received on the street.
Sanal Kumar said he decided to begin the protest after the government and the legal system failed to take what he considers immediate action on the serious issues he has been raising.
In a Facebook post announcing the hunger strike, Sanal Kumar Sasidharan said he was beginning the indefinite fast because the government had not agreed to conduct the investigations he had been demanding for years.
He said his demands were not limited to personal matters and involved what he described as serious social issues.
