THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Crime Branch is preparing to name Kerala Public Service Commission (PSC) Chairman MR Baiju as an accused in the ongoing investigation into the PSC examination fraud case.
The development follows questioning of the PSC Secretary and three commission members, who reportedly provided statements implicating the chairman. According to investigators, Baiju took unilateral decisions in violation of prescribed guidelines, specifically by directly selecting the panel of members assigned to draft question papers and overseeing the appointment of evaluators for answer scripts.
While Baiju was interrogated earlier in connection with the probe, the Crime Branch and the Special Investigation Team (SIT) are scheduled to question him again this week. Investigators suspect that irregularities during the conduct of the examinations occurred due to direct administrative interventions by the chairman.
Official proceedings to formally name Baiju in the case will move forward once the investigation team receives legal advice.
