Scheduled surgeries suspended due to power disruption at Thrissur Medical College

THRISSUR: The people are experiencing various kinds of difficulties due to the daily power outages in the state. There have even been incidents of bedridden patients dying due to lack of oxygen. Now, another power-related issue has come to light.

An order has been issued to suspend scheduled surgeries in Thrissur Medical College due to a power outage. Only emergency surgeries are being performed due to this. Officials said the crisis was caused by a fault at the substation supplying electricity to the medical college. Medical college authorities stated that efforts to rectify the fault are ongoing.

The hospital performs an average of 24 surgeries a day. The disruption began at 10 pm on Thursday. Thrissur Medical College is a major healthcare facility serving patients from Thrissur, Palakkad, and Malappuram. Hundreds of patients are being affected by the disruption due to this.
