MINI COOPER INVOLVED IN ACCIDENT

KOCHI: More action is likely in the Mini Cooper accident that led to the death of three teens. Two individuals who were in the Mini Cooper with Suhail at the time of the accident fled in another vehicle. The Nedumbassery SHO stated that they were taken into custody with the assistance of the Alappuzha police. A case was registered against all three individuals who accompanied Suhail, charging them with abetment. The other accused in the case are Ninav, Ameer, and Joel.

Ninav, a friend who had been with Suhail since Saturday afternoon, is the second accused in the case. Ninav's friends, Ameer and Joel, had arrived at the airport to pick up another friend. However, upon learning that the flight would be delayed, they decided to go for a ride in a Mini Cooper with Suhail, who happened to be passing by. They sped recklessly in the car after visiting a bar and consuming alcohol together. Suhail and Ninav had already been drinking at two other bars before meeting the others.

Joel and Ameer were taken to the accident site as part of evidence collection. Both admitted that the vehicle was speeding. As part of the effort to collect scientific evidence related to the accident, the police plan to retrieve data from the Mini Cooper's EDR. An EDR is a safety device installed in vehicles; it records and stores critical data regarding the moments immediately before and after a crash.
