KOCHI: Suhail Sajeev, the accused in the Mini Cooper accident in Nedumbassery, was found to have five times the permissible limit of alcohol in his blood. This was confirmed in the test results obtained last night. Police termed the sample analysis report as shocking. The findings corroborate witness statements that Suhail was highly intoxicated at the time of the accident.

The permissible alcohol limit is 30 milligrams. However, the test results say that Suhail had consumed alcohol exceeding 150 milligrams. The police are also investigating whether he had taken chemical drugs. However, it will take some time for the test results in this regard to become available.

The charge of driving under the influence of alcohol (Section 185 of the Motor Vehicles Act) has also been invoked against the accused.

Meantime, the Angamaly Magistrate Court will consider Suhail's bail plea at around 11 am today. The police have decided to strongly oppose his bail plea.
