Thiruvananthapuram first among district panchayats, Mulanthuruthy named best gram panchayat

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Swaraj Awards for the year 2020-21 have been announced. Thiruvananthapuram ranks first among district panchayats. Kollam is in the second position. Among the block panchayats, Perumbadappu (Malappuram) secured first position, Mukhathala (Kollam) second position and Lalam (Kottayam) third position.

Among the grama panchayats, Mulanthuruthy (Ernakulam) came first, Elavally (Thrissur) second and Mangalapuram (Thiruvananthapuram) third.

Kozhikode ranks first among corporations. Among the municipalities, Sultan Bathery (Wayanad) and Tirurangadi (Malappuram) secured the first and second positions respectively.

The Mahatma Ayyankali Award went to the Kollam Corporation. Among the municipalities, Tanur (Malappuram) came first and Vaikom (Kottayam) second. Grama panchayats of Ezhamkulam, Kadampanad, Mylapore, Nedumpuram, Ranni Angadi, Thalayazham, Karuvatta in Alappuzha and Edappal in Malappuram in Pathanamthitta got the state level Mahatma Award. The awards were announced by Minister MV Govindan.
