Two elderly people die of burns in Varkala

THIRUVANNATHAPURAM: Two elderly people were found dead of burns at Ottoor in Chennankod, Varkala. They have been identified as Sukumaran (92) of Chennankod and Omana (85). Sukumaran is Omana’s brother-in-law.

The incident came to light around 1:30 pm when neighbors noticed smoke emanating from the house. They immediately informed the fire force and Kallambalam police. The fire was caused by a liquid like kerosene. Omana's husband had died earlier.
