Protesting employees at CorroHealth Company

KOCHI: Protests continue at the US-based medical coding company CorroHealth, which laid off about 800 employees en masse without giving prior notice. The company, which rejected the government's demand, has not allowed employees into the office even today. No one associated with the company reached the Palarivattom office, leading to doubts about whether the company officials will participate in the upcoming crucial discussion.

Earlier, in the discussion conducted by the labour officer, the company's legal advisor was strictly instructed not to take any further action until the ministerial discussion to be held on the 10th. The labour officer had also ordered a notice in this regard to be posted in the company. The labour department had also instructed that employees be allowed to enter the office until the discussion is held. Although the legal advisor said that he would inform the company about this, the employees were not assured a promise of a job.

The employees who arrived at the office today found the office locked. The security personnel at the co-working space where CorroHealth operates stated that they had not received any notification from the company.

Yesterday morning, the management locked the gate to not allow former employees from entering the office. With this, DYFI workers reached the spot, forcibly opened the door and let the employees inside.
