THRISSUR: A wild elephant entered a grocery store at Puliyilappara in Athirappilly. The elephant entered the shop owned by Maliyakkal Paul Thursday early morning at 3 am by breaking the shutter and glass at the front.

The elephant, which entered the store, ate the fruits and vegetables and then destroyed groceries to a large extent. The elephant, which remained inside the shop for nearly one and a half hours, was finally driven away by the locals after strenuous efforts. This is the only shop in Puliyilappara, the main junction on the way from Vazhachal to Malakkappara.
