Govt should take strong action; K K Shailaja extends support to Manju Warrier

KOCHI: Senior CPM leader K K Shailaja turned against director Sanal Kumar Sasidharan over his allegations, including the claim that actress Manju Warrier is being held captive by a sex racket. Sanal Kumar is carrying out a heinous assault against Manju, Shailaja responded via a Facebook post.

Sanal Kumar is presently staging an indefinite hunger strike in front of the Secretariat in Thiruvananthapuram, demanding a high-level investigation into the allegations of sexual exploitation mentioned in the Hema Committee report and seeking to expose the alleged conspiracy behind the case filed against him.

Manju Warrier is one of the proudest actresses of Malayalam cinema. As someone who overcame the challenges in her life in an exemplary manner, Manju is also an inspiration to many. What Sanal Kumar Sasidharan is doing against Manju is a vile form of harassment. Her life is not meant to be surrendered to the ravings of a mentally unstable criminal. The government should take strong action against such people. I extend my full support to the legal battles being fought by Manju.

Meantime, Manju Warrier has filed a defamation case against Sanal Kumar Sasidharan. The actress filed the case at the Ernakulam Munsiff Court. He is constantly making defamatory remarks. The petition also requests the removal of the notes posted against her on social media.
