CM Satheesan's 'Ala Bolelo' dance disappears from social media; Meta with clarification

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Meta took down the viral AI-generated dance video featuring VD Satheesan with KSEB officials from social media platforms. The decision was taken because the video violated India's current IT laws. The video remains viewable in other countries.

Numerous memes and troll videos criticising the state government over imposing power restrictions surfaced in recent times. Among them, a dance video featuring Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan went viral on social media. The video was created using the song 'Ala Bolelo' from the Rajinikanth movie ‘Jailer 2’ as the backdrop. Abhijith, a native of Thrissur, produced this AI-generated video together with his friend Akhil, who is based in Dubai. Although the video is still available on some social media accounts, reports suggest that it may soon be removed.

“I came across something interesting on social media—a video showing me leading a group dance. I was amazed. It showed me dancing even better than Mohanlal and even my friend and Tamil Nadu CM Vijay. It is impossible to bring such amazing creations of the new era under the frameworks of law,” Satheesan responded about the video.
