Karnataka Minister and Senior Congress Leader D Sudhakar Passes Away

BENGALURU: Karnataka minister and senior Congress Leader D Sudhakar (66) passed away at 3.15 am today while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Electronic City. He had been undergoing treatment for a lung infection for the past few months.

Sudhakar was a member of parliament from Hiriyur constituency in Chitradurga district and handled the Planning and Statistics department in the Karnataka government. D Sudhakar was first elected as an MLA from Challakere in 2004. Following the delimitation, the Challakere constituency was reserved for the Scheduled Tribes. Following this, Sudhakar shifted his base to Hiriyur.
