CHENNAI: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued notices to Tamil actors Srikanth and Krishna Kumar. They have been asked to appear at the ED office in Chennai. Srikanth has been asked to appear at the ED office on October 28 and Krishna Kumar on October 29. The action is under the Anti-Money Laundering Act. The Chennai police had arrested both of them in a drug case months ago. The ED's move is after this. It is reported that they will be questioned on charges including illegally acquiring money and using cocaine.

The information of Srikanth using drugs was obtained from arrested AIADMK leader Prasad. The police registered his arrest after detailed interrogation. Prasad was arrested while investigating about a fight that broke out at a bar in Chennai. The police after interrogation understood that he had used drugs and had distributed drugs to many. Srikanth was suspected of having a connection with him and of buying and using cocaine from him.

Prasad had confessed during interrogation of supplying drugs including cocaine to Srikanth. Following this, the police summoned the actor for questioning. Prasad has stated that Srikanth bought one gram of cocaine for Rs 12,000. Prasad also alleged that Srikanth used drugs at private parties and clubs in Chennai. Following these revelations, a wide-ranging investigation has been launched into drug use in the film industry.
