Child dies after cracker explodes during swearing in ceremony celebrations 

KANNUR: A nine-year-old boy died tragically after a firecracker exploded during the celebrations of V D Satheesan's swearing-in function. The incident happened at Punnakkapara in Azhikode, Kannur. The accident occurred near the Congress office in Punnakkapara. The dead is Aman of Punnakkapara Kunjikizhakkayil House.

During the swearing-in ceremony, Congress workers had distributed laddoos and burst firecrackers. After storing the remaining firecrackers in a place, the workers had dispersed. The children present there at that time took the firecrackers and burst them.

One cracker fell on Aman's neck and burst. The seriously injured child was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, but his life could not be saved. Three children sustained injuries in the accident.
