THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The complainant, who earlier alleged sexual assault from former MLA Eldhose Kunnappilly, changed her statement. In the Neyyattinkara court, the woman said Eldhose did not assault her in any way. The woman felt unwell while giving the statement. Four witnesses in the case, including the complainant, switched statements.

The charge sheet filed by the Thiruvananthapuram District Crime Branch at the Neyyattinkara Sessions Court in May 2024 alleged that Eldhose Kunnappilly assaulted the woman on more than one occasion. The charge sheet was filed, charging serious charges including rape and attempt to murder. Apart from Eldhose, two friends of the MLA are also accused in the case. The charge sheet alleged that they even threatened the victim to withdraw the complaint.

The earlier complaint stated that the woman was first sexually assaulted at a resort in Adimalathura. The incident took place on July 4, 2022. In the charge sheet, it was mentioned that the MLA later assaulted the woman at his house in Thrikkakara and his house in Kunnathunadu. The chargesheet also mentioned that the MLA tried to kill the victim by pushing her into the sea from the cliff in Kovalam.
