THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: K Muraleedharan and CP John will represent the capital city in the new government. People have high hopes since both these MLAs are experienced politicians with a great understanding of the pertinent issues hindering Thiruvananthapuram's development. The intervention of the ministers is crucial to find a permanent solution to the water crisis and waste disposal, and to accelerate the pace of smart city development and light metro.

Efforts should also be made to realise dream projects like the High Court Bench and Outer Ring Road. Muraleedharan will handle the Health and Devaswom departments, and C.P. John will handle the Transport department. The progress of health centres in the capital is of utmost importance. The plan for a second medical college initiated during the Oommen Chandy government was abandoned by the subsequent Left government. The UDF leaders announced that a second medical college will be started in a building built on the premises of the General Hospital. It is expected that this will be one of K. Muraleedharan's first considerations. The master plan development of the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College, the largest medical college in Kerala, and the development of the General Hospital are the challenges in front of K. Muraleedharan.

In CP John's case, it is unique that the people's representatives from the same constituency have become ministers of the same department in two consecutive ministries.

Thiruvananthapuram MLA Antony Raju was the Transport Minister for the first two and a half years in the second Pinarayi Vijayan ministry. It is essential to facilitate transport facilities in the constituency, which includes the coastal region, and to start new services outside the cities. Mayor V.V. Rajesh and former Transport Minister K.B. Ganesh Kumar had clashed over the operation of electric buses purchased as part of the Smart City project outside the city. An agreement has not yet been reached on matters, including sharing the revenue from these buses. C.P. John's intervention will be crucial.

“The second medical college will be started. No more patients will have to lie on the floor in the medical college. The master plan development will be accelerated. The renovation of the Parasurama temple will be implemented with special importance,” said K. Muraleedharan, Minister.

“Drinking water will be ensured in all areas like Karimadom and Chenkalchoola. Scientific solutions should be put to use to end the long-ignored plight of Parvati Puthannar. A coastal hospital will be set up for the coastal residents,”-C.P. John
