THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A middle-aged man was found dead inside a Mahindra Thar parked at Peroor, near Karyavattom, on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Rajeev, a native of Aniyoor.
The incident came to light in the evening when a group of children arrived at the local ground to play. They noticed a man lying motionless inside the vehicle and immediately alerted local residents, who subsequently informed the police.

Upon arriving at the scene, law enforcement officers had to shatter the vehicle's window to gain access, only to find that Rajeev had already passed away.
According to statements given by the children to the investigators, the vehicle had been parked at the ground since Saturday. They also mentioned that Rajeev had briefly spoken to them the previous day.
Preliminary police assessments suggest that the individual might have fallen asleep with the vehicle's air conditioning running, potentially leading to carbon monoxide poisoning or asphyxiation. The exact cause of death will be determined following a post-mortem examination. The body has been shifted to the hospital for autopsy, and further investigation is underway.
