Veena's company against SFIO probe; petition in Karnataka High Court

BENGALURU: Veena's company Exalogic has approached the court against the investigation being conducted on the instructions of the central government by the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO). The company filed the petition in the High Court of Karnataka as it is based in Karnataka. The opposing parties in the petition are the Director of SFIO and the Central Government.

It is reported that the petition was filed this morning. The company approached the High Court with the petition amid indications that the SFIO will interrogate Veena on allegations of taking money from CMRL without providing services. The decision was based on the legal advice of senior Supreme Court advocate CS Vaidyanathan.

Yesterday, the Kerala High Court rejected KSIDC's (Industrial Development Corporation) demand to stop the inspection. An explanation has been sought from the Central Corporate Ministry on the petition. While examining the petition, the High Court asked if there was anything to hide and KSIDC replied that there was nothing to hide. Following which the court asked then what is the reason to be scared. The case will be considered again on 12th of this month.
