Foreign language studies along with engineering

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Aiming at foreign employment, foreign languages such as German, French, Japanese and Italian will also be included in the syllabus of post-graduate engineering courses from the next batch. The Kerala Technological University (KTU) has held talks with the German Consul-General in this regard. The Consulate will provide training for the teachers. KTU Vice Chancellor Prof Ciza Thomas told Kerala Kaumudi that opportunities will be provided for students to learn as many foreign languages ​​as possible. Although there are several job opportunities in foreign countries, students are facing issues such as language problems. Switzerland and German Consul-Generals have recently visited the university.

Consulates have offered cooperation with their universities for study, research collaboration, internships and teacher-student exchange. Knowing a foreign language can help students gain easy access to further studies and research in many countries. Research programs in Germany do not cost much. The meritorious will get the full amount for research as a scholarship. There is no bond condition that people should remain there after research.
