Accidents tribunal awards Rs 1.15 cr as compensation to boy injured in accident

KOCHI: The Motor Accidents Claims Tribunal has awarded a compensation of Rs 1.15 crore to Muhammad Ali Ashfaq, a Class II student, son of Farooq and Nadira Banu, who was seriously injured in a car accident. On 30th November 2016, the boy, who was riding a bicycle with his friends, was hit by a government-owned bus and lost his mobility, and is still undergoing treatment. Judge K. Anilkumar order is after taking into account the financial status of the family. Compensation should be paid within 90 days. The tribunal criticized the action of the police who were not ready to file a case on the same day despite the child being seriously injured.
