Kerala Youth Congress election: Strong complaints reach Rahul Gandhi about bogus votes

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Candidates in the youth congress elections alleged the use of forged voter ID cards to tamper with the results as they wrote a complaint to many congress leaders including Rahul Gandhi. Four people who contested from Thiruvananthapuram district have complained to the party leadership regarding this.

A special agency was formed to conduct the voting in such a way that names can be added to the voter list as well and votes can be registered. The complaint is that fake identity cards were widely used to add names. This was allegedly done using a special mobile application. The link to the application is given along with the complaint. After opening the app, a photo and name of the user should be registered but when it comes to providing the voter ID card, a false voter ID number was given by many people including candidates.

According to the allegation, with this fake ID, people reached the agency's special website designed for the youth congress election and made their votes. Since the uploaded document is fake, the vote will be also counted as a bogus one. Many such votes were made and the result was thus doubted to be wrong. Meanwhile, the creator of this application remains anonymous. According to the complaint, many candidates who were elected within the Youth congress from the district have downloaded this application. The complaint also asked to revoke the results.

The complaint was forwarded to the Youth Congress Election Committee, All India President of the organization B V Srinivas, AICC Joint Secretary Krishna Allavaru in charge of Youth Congress, AICC President Mallikarjuna Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, K C Venugopal.
