Panoor bomb blast: Two, including DYFI leader, arrested

KANNUR: Two more people have been arrested in connection with the incident where a person was killed during making a bomb in Panoor. The arrested have been identified as DYFI's Meethale Kunnothuparam Unit Secretary Amal Babu and Mithunlal. Amal Babu was arrested on Sunday morning. According to the police, Amal Babu was present at the time of the blast. The police also stated that Mithunlal was a participant in the conspiracy to make the bomb. Mithunlal was in Bengaluru when the incident took place and was arrested from there. Two people are absconding in the case. Apart from the three injured, six people have been arrested so far.

On Saturday, Chendiyadu native KK Arun, Kunnothuparambu native K Athul, Cheruparambu natives Shibin Lal and Sayooj were arrested.

A special team under the leadership of Koothuraparamba ACP KV Venugopal is probing the case.

Vinodan and Aswanth, who were injured and hospitalized, were quizzed by the police. Vineesh, who lost both his arms in the blast, is in a private hospital in Kozhikode.
