Decision taken to withdraw divorce petition; Sangeeta Soralingam tells Chengalpettu family court

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay's wife, Sangeetha Sornalingam, decided to withdraw her divorce petition. Sangeetha appeared online at the Chengalpettu family court and informed the court about this. Sangeetha announced her decision before Chengalpettu family court judge Sujatha today.

The petition was considered this morning. Vijay's lawyer had requested that the petition be considered next month since Vijay is busy with the assembly schedule. However, Sangeetha demanded that the case be considered today itself. Later, Sangeetha announced withdrawing her divorce petition during the hearing in the afternoon. It is reported that the court then disposed of the petition.

Vijay's divorce news was a big topic of discussion in the South Indian film industry, including Kerala. Reports say that Sangeetha filed for divorce citing Vijay's extramarital affair with an actress.

Reports also emerged recently that Vijay and Sangeetha have returned to cordial terms. Reports said that the two reunited with the intervention of family members, including Vijay's mother Shobha Chandrasekhar. There were reports that Sangeetha, who was in London, returned to Chennai and the two spent time together.

Sangeetha filed a divorce petition in the court last February to end her 26-year marriage. Vijay and Sangeetha married on August 25, 1999. They have two children, Jason Sanjay and Divya Sasha.
