SIVAGIRI: Goa Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai said that Deivadasakam, written by Sree Narayana Gurudeva, should be made a part of the acadamic curriculum. Inaugurating the Global Pravasi Meet organised by Sree Narayana Dharma Sangham Trust at Sivagiri, he said that DeivaDasakam is a great poem consisting of ten shlokas that combine spirituality and materialism alike.
Gurudeva was a sthita prajna who had not harvested hatred in connection with Renaissance activities. It was through a spiritual background that Gurudeva initiated the Renaissance. Negativity cannot be seen anywhere in Guru's thoughts. He put forward his line of thought without saying anything against anyone. Sree Narayana Gurudeva is a world-conquering Vishwaguru. Many of the things that the United Nations later recorded in relation to human rights contain the essence of Gurudeva's thought.
The efforts of the sanyasi community to spread the message of the Guru to the world with far-sightedness, at a time when the world order is changing based on universal humanity, are welcome. The number of atheists is very high, including in the United States and Britain. However, in Bharat, the land of Gurudeva, the number of atheists is negligible.
Sreedharan Pillai pointed out that Guru gave the human world the vision that will lead the oppressed to progress.
Sree Narayana Dharma Sangham Trust President Swami Satchidananda presided over the function. Swami Sookshmananda delivered the blessing lecture. Benny Mathews (Indonesia), Global Pravasi Meet Chairman K.G. Baburajan, Vice-Chairmen K. Muraleedharan, Dr. K. Sudhakaran, General Convener A.V. Anoop, Swami Asanganandagiri and others spoke on the occasion. Sree Narayana Dharma Sangham Trust General Secretary Swami Shubhangananda gave the welcome speech and Treasurer Swami Sharadananda gave the vote of thanks.
