THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Strong criticism against Mayor Arya Rajendran in CPM Thiruvananthapuram district conference. Criticism has been raised that the mayor is a complete failure and that winning national and international awards does not matter. At the same time, some came out in support of the mayor. They accused political opponents of rounding up and attacking the mayor.
Major criticisms leveled at the CPM district conference:
The mayor is rude and arrogant. Winning national and international awards does not matter. People's award is needed. The mayor is a total failure. Hospitals do not even have essential medicines. There are no doctors at night. Party members do not get justice at the police station. Saying you are a party member will get you ignored. Bureaucrats are ruling the education department. Everything is decided by the Director of General Education. Nothing can be done despite having a powerful minister.
Meanwhile, a woman representative also took the stage by mocking party secretary MV Govindan. "If you want to know what Govindan Mash's dialectical materialism is, you have to go to the police stations. Only then will you understand the meaning of the Secretary's speech. Speech is going in one direction and action is the other. There is no justice for victims in police stations. No action is taken in cases against women and children. Women are not represented in the party. Women are excluded from party positions. Is there any intention to issue a circular that women should be considered for certain party posts?" asked the woman representative.
