KOZHIKODE: Actress Ansiba Hassan has reacted to the court's directive to register a case against actor Tini Tom. Expressing her happiness over the court order, Ansiba added that she has received justice.
The actress also criticised the police for their reluctance to file a case despite her submitting a complaint. She stated that people approach a police station with the expectation of receiving justice, and when it was denied there, she felt disappointed and pained. She noted that she was deeply concerned when a First Information Report (FIR) was not registered despite the statements of the accused being recorded based on her complaint, but added that she has now "seen the light of justice" following the court's directive.
The court today directed the police to register a case against actor Tini Tom based on Ansiba's complaint. The Ernakulam District Sessions Court issued the directive to book him for making communal remarks. The order also specifies that all allegations in the complaint, including outraging the modesty of a woman, must be investigated.
Earlier, the Kadavanthra police had taken the stance that there was no evidence to register a case based on Ansiba's complaint. The court's intervention comes on a petition filed by Ansiba challenging this police stance. In her complaint, Ansiba states that mental harassment by Tini Tom was the reason behind her resignation from the executive committee of AMMA, the actors' association. The complaint further alleges that Tini Tom called her a 'Jihadi', accused her of religious conversion, and insulted her personally. Ansiba had also clarified that she came to know about these matters from another actor, Neena Kurup.
