One student dies, 10 injured after tree falls on school bus during heavy rain

MUMBAI: In a tragic incident, a student died and around 10 others were injured after a tree fell on a school bus during heavy rain. The accident took place on Road No. 11 in Chembur, Mumbai, around noon on Friday. There were 13 students on the bus at the time of the accident. The injured students were admitted to nearby Jain Hospital and Sen Hospital. Some of them are reported to be in critical condition.

Meanwhile, reports claim that one student is still trapped inside the bus. Rescue teams are trying to remove the tree and bring the child out safely. Locals alleged that they had repeatedly complained to the civic authorities about dangerous trees in the area, but no action was taken. They also said that similar accidents caused by falling trees had occurred in the past.
