THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Gold prices in the state have dropped again today. The price of gold dropped by Rs 165 per gram and reached Rs 12,845. The price of one sovereign (8 grams) fell by Rs 1,320 and stood at Rs 1,02,760.
Gold prices had recorded a decline on Monday as well. If the current trend continues, the price of one sovereign could fall below Rs 1 lakh. The drop in gold prices was caused by rising crude oil prices and inflation threats following reports of renewed conflicts in West Asia.
Silver prices also declined in Kerala today. The price fell by Rs 5 per gram, with one gram of silver now priced at Rs 235. The price of 10 grams of silver dropped by Rs 50 and reached Rs 2,350.
