WASHINGTON: Donald Trump will take office tomorrow as the 47th President of the United States with the announcement that he will 'restore America to greatness'. The ceremony will begin at 10.30 pm Indian time (12 noon Eastern time). JD Vance will also take over as the 50th vice president. World leaders including External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will attend. Due to the extreme cold, some events other than the parade may be moved inside the Capitol, where the US Congress meets.
Trump has made big promises, including ending the war in Ukraine. Plans for immigration control, including reform of the H-1B visa, and end of birthright citizenship, have been lined up.
