Barbecue fight goes wrong; 'Angry' Indian woman arrested in Canada following viral video

OTTAWA: An Indian origin woman, identified as Raj Tiwana, was arrested in dramatic style by Canadian police following a complaint that Tiwana assaulted her tenant. In a video that went viral across social media, Tiwana was seen shouting and unleashing a diatribe at her tenant over the fact that he, along with his friend, used a barbecue in the garden. Tiwana alleged that the tenant was trying to burn her property.

The matter escalated after she removed the food from the grill and pushed away the barbecue, saying she would not allow it on her property. Tiwana also threatened to call the police while her tenant looked dazed over the happenings.

In another video, Tiwana was seen entering the Tenant’s room and hitting him with a tennis racket and throwing utensils at him. The tenant was heard shouting at her to leave the room. The tenant had recorded most of the videos and posted them on social media. The videos invited much condemnation, even from the Indian diaspora and a request was made to initiate police action against Tiwana.

On the last day, Canadian police reached Tiwana’s residence and arrested her by force. Tiwana was handcuffed and made to walk to the police car while she kept denying the allegations. There is no veracity to the allegations made in the incident.
