Three close friends and sudden frustration: More details on murder of two Malayali women in US

KOTTAYAM: An arrest was made in the murder of two Malayali women in the United States on Sunday. Thiruvananthapuram native Annie Jacob (35), wife of Jacob (Mithun) of Pallathara house in Kurichy, Kottayam, and Pattikkad, Mudikode, native Anjana Vijeesh (35), daughter of Haridas and Sushama couple, were murdered in the incident.

Police arrested Anila, a common friend of the victims. The double murder took place in Milpitas, California, on Friday. Initial information is that Anjana was called down from her flat and then hit by a car. The car did not stop. When Jacob rang Annie on the phone to talk about picking their younger daughter from school, the call went unanswered. Annie was later found stabbed to death in the bathroom of the apartment. Annie and her husband Jacob have been in California for eight years. Their children are Andrina (10 years old) and Alisa (5 years old). Annie's funeral will be held later. Anjana and her husband Vijeesh have been in California for eight years. Vamika is their only daughter.

What motivated the murder?

Jacob's relatives said that the three were close friends. Annie and Jacob were in the IT field. Annie got a job and a work permit two weeks ago. Meanwhile, Anila lost her job in America recently. The initial conclusion is that frustration over this led to the murder.
