KOZHIKODE: Kanthapuram AP Aboobacker Musliyar repeated the controversial chauvinistic statement against the MEC 7 exercise event, which he made in Kuttiady the other day. Aboobacker Musliyar reiterated that faith is above everything and vowed to oppose any event that involved the participation of both male and female genders.

“We don’t mind being labelled as conservatives. Let it be. I have talked about it only after learning the issue in full.” Said Kanthapuram AP Aboobacker Musliyar.

Aboobacker Musliyar also criticized the MEC-7 event held in Kizhissery, Malappuram.

“MEC-7 is spreading into all hamlets in the pretext of exercise. They are giving a wrong message by mixing up both genders on the same stage which is antithetical to Islam. Women and other men are mingling. Women even expose their bodies and engage in this exercise. Even the notion that men and women looking at or watching each other is haram (forbidden) is removed and destruction is done. Losses are also being made here. In the past, women were aware of the Islamic law that seeing and talking to men is subject to conditions. Now, by removing this barricade, they are teaching that there is no problem with young women and men getting together. This is causing huge damage. MEC 7 is diverting young people to the haram (forbidden) path," he alleged.
