THRISSUR: The Calicut University Thrissur District D Zone Arts Festival was called off following a clash between KSU and SFI activists. Many students were injured in the clash that took place at Mala Holy Grace Group of Institutions.

Kerala Varma SFI unit president Ashish, who was injured in the attack, is in critical condition. Ashish is undergoing treatment at Thrissur Medical College Hospital. The SFI alleged that a group led by KSU district president Gokul Guruvayur kickstarted the violence. At the same time, KSU retorted saying the violence was the sleight of hand from SFI. The conflict broke out amidst the skit competition at the venue. The festival had to be stopped immediately while police came into action to bring things under control.

The art festival which started on 24th was to conclude today. The official inauguration of the arts festival was done by film actor Salim Kumar.
