Operation D-Hunt drive against narcotic dealers; 2854 people arrested in 2762 cases in eight days

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Narcotics were seized in the operations conducted by the police against drug sales and storage for the last eight days.

153.56 kg of cannabis, 1.312 kg of MDMA, 18.15 grams of hashish oil, 1.855 grams of brown sugar and 13.06 grams of heroin were seized. 2854 people were arrested in 2762 cases in the operation named Operation D-Hunt. The operation was led by ADGP Manoj Abraham, head of the Anti-Narcotics Task Force.

The inspections of the NDPS Coordination Cell of the ranges and the district police chiefs were conducted at drug storage locations. 594.72 grams of MDMA was seized from Malappuram district alone. 225 people were arrested here in 213 cases.

416 people were arrested in Thiruvananthapuram in 403 cases. About 10 kg of ganja was also seized. MDMA was seized at least in small quantities from all districts except Pathanamthitta and Alappuzha.
