Body of missing man found in overflowing drain in Kozhikode

KOZHIKODE: The body of a man who accidentally fell into an overflowing drain during heavy rains, has been found. The body of Sasi (65) of Kovoor, was found around 7 Monday morning. Locals found Sasi's body a kilometre away from the accident site. Fire force and police have reached the spot.

There were heavy rains in Kozhikode and its surroundings last night. The incident happened on Kovoor MLA Road were water from various places gush together. Sasi, who was sitting at the lower bus stop in Kovoor Manaleri during the rains, accidentally slipped and fell into the drain.

Sasi and his friend were present there at the time of the incident. Though the locals, police and fire force searched the area, he could not be found. His body was found this morning after a search of ten hours. Although complaints were lodged for not covering the drains, no action was taken.
